Applying for Free School Meals
UNIVERSAL INFANT FREE SCHHOOL MEALS: (UIFSM) ALL CHILDREN in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 receive a free hot lunch in school as part of the Universal Infant Free School Meal programme introduced in September 2014.
IT IS STIIL IMPORTANT TO APPLY FOR FREE SCHOOL MEALS IF YOU ARE ELIGIBLE AS IT IS ONLY WITH THIS APPLICATION WILL FUNDING BE RELEASED FOR THE SCHOOL TO ACCESS- £1300 PER APPLICATION!
Free School Meals: available for children from Reception to Year 6
If you consider you may be eligible for Free School Meals under the criteria outlined below it is essential you apply as soon as possible. This can bring a saving for you of over £400 a year and also means Whitby Heath gains access to Pupil Premium Funding.
This funding stream makes a huge impact on provision within school as it brings £1480 per successful application / per child, which is in addition to the school budget. The impact of this funding is huge both on children’s progress and in supporting a range of activities. PLEASE BE AWARE: If eligible parents do not apply we do not receive this funding stream and therefore forfeit the full monies which school is entitled from the Pupil Premium Grant.
