Year 5 Willow Class 2019 - 2020

Miss Ohri

Welcome to Year 5!

Miss Ohri

Autumn 1

Our text this half term is 'The Warrior Troll' by Rachel Lindsey, an adventure story set in Norway, featuring trolls and the Vikings. Please refer to our learning journey to see what we will be up too!

Big question: Does money buy you happiness?

Homework

Our homework system works on alternate weeks, on specific weeks the children will complete Mathletics tasks, set by myself, relating to the Maths we have worked on in class. On the other weeks, the children will be able to choose an activity from the 8 we have provided, to complete! These relate to our work in class, it could be creating an eBook, presentation, poem, or carrying out a Science investigation!

Reading

- Reading at home should be done as frequently as possible. Children should bring their reading book and reading record to school every day and take them home each night.

- Bug Club is an exciting online reading resource with interesting books and reading activities. Your child knows their password and how to use the different resources on there.

Maths

- Mathletics is updated regularly with tasks. Children know their login username and passwords but can check with me. They should login and complete their assigned tasks before progressing on to Live Mathletics...let's see how many points we can get! Click on the logo to go there now!

PE

Our class need their PE kit in every Monday. Swimming lessons will begin after the October half term.
